Columbus-Belmont is spectacular in its scenic beauty and Civil War History. Therefore, when the Department of Parks commissioned PFGW Inc. to design a new multi-use activities building, it was important that the new building compliment the existing site and not compete with or dominate it. This facility accomplished just that with the use of earth berms, exposed wood, and stone. These materials play a major role in the entrance lobby as you transition from nature to facility. Once inside, the building design takes full advantage of the scenic view while also providing the necessary administrative and support areas.
